Business Development Manager: Wine & Hospitality

Salary Range: Negotiable depending on skill and experience
Our client operates within the global beverage and hospitality space, working closely with international distributors and partners to deliver premium solutions into on-trade and related environments.
They are seeking a highly commercial, hunter-focused Business Development Manager to drive the next phase of global growth. This is a hands-on, independent contributor role, focused on activating new distributors and optimising existing partner performance across key international markets.
The role offers board exposure and strategic influence, but the emphasis is on personally driving revenue and partner growth rather than managing a team initially.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Distributor Acquisition
Identify and pursue new distribution partners in priority international markets
Lead the full lifecycle of partner onboarding, from sourcing to negotiation and activation
Establish clear expectations, agreements, and onboarding frameworks for new distributors
Optimising Existing Partnerships
Take ownership of the current global distributor network
Monitor performance metrics (sales, revenue, activity) and implement strategies to maximise output
Address underperformance through hands-on support, coaching, or reappointment
Commercial Execution
Drive revenue growth through direct engagement with distributors and key accounts
Negotiate international pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure market insights inform product and commercial strategy
Candidate Profile
7–12 years’ experience in international sales, business development, or channel-led B2B roles
Proven hunter DNA with experience personally winning and onboarding distributors or partners
Comfortable operating hands-on in multiple international markets
Strong commercial acumen; able to independently manage pricing, contracts, and margins
Background in premium products, capital equipment, hospitality, beverage, or related sectors preferred
Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of executing without large team oversight
