The Role:
The Medical Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the medical vision and strategic direction of our client’s healthcare initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership position that calls for a skilled, forward-thinking professional to oversee clinical operations. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of clinical expertise, strategic insight, and a passion for transforming healthcare delivery at scale.
Key Responsibilities and Contributions:
Commercial
- Commercially astute with a deep understanding of balancing clinical outcomes with operational efficiency and profitability.
- Contribution of management of the P&L, budget management and commercial performance drivers in a Healthtech or private healthcare setting.
- Contributing to pricing models, commercial planning, and identifying revenue and cost optimisation opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to support user acquisition, retention, and monetisation strategies.
- Represent clinical interests in commercial decisions, partnerships, and investor discussions.
- Identify revenue enhancement and cost optimisation opportunities.
Strategic Contribution
- Collaborate with the executive team to shape the company’s vision, mission, and growth strategy.
- Analyse data and metrics to evaluate clinical performance and drive decision-making.
- Contribute to market research and product development to expand the company’s reach and impact.
Innovation in Patient Care:
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance direct-to-consumer platforms, focusing on telemedicine, patient engagement, and care delivery.
- Utilise insights from private healthcare and medical cannabis to develop patient-centric solutions.
- Lead initiatives to integrate new treatments, technologies, and methodologies into the service offering.
Clinical Leadership:
- Oversee clinical operations and ensure high standards of medical care across all services.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide medical expertise and leadership to cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and product development.
Patient Experience
- Champion a patient-centric culture, ensuring that patient experience is at the forefront of all B2C activities and leverage tech and product teams to achieve best-in-class service to maximise retention.
- Manage clinics when needed to ensure consistency of care and service delivery
- Support with day-to-day operations of the business as it scales. Have a bias for being hands on and getting things done.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GMC guidelines, CQC requirements, and relevant regulations.
- Stay updated on legislative and industry changes, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and ahead of trends.
- Oversee patient safety protocols, adverse event reporting, and risk management strategies.
- Support complaint and incident management with the governance team.
Team Development
- Provide mentorship and support to clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, train, and retain a team of healthcare professionals aligned with the company’s mission.
Your Profile:
- Proven background in private healthcare, health tech, private health services that scaled quickly with a strong understanding of patient care dynamics.
- Familiarity with direct-to-consumer health tech platforms, including telemedicine or digital health solutions.
- Experience with medical treatments, patient management, and associated regulations
- Highly commercial and analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients, stakeholders, and regulators.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable working with healthcare technology systems and platforms.
- Flexibility: A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
Qualifications
- GMC Registration: Fully licensed GMC-registered Doctor in good standing.
